Relaxing, Post-Christmas, Jazz Concert will Feature Renowned Artist Randy Napoleon

World-class jazz guitarist Randy Napoleon is coming home to Michigan. The 1999 University of Michigan graduate will hold a benefit concert to support the Baldwin Center, a human services agency in Pontiac, on Wednesday December 28, 2011. Napoleon is highly sought-after in jazz circles in New York, where he now lives.

His popularity has grown over time. Napoleon has appeared on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, The View, and Live with Regis & Kelly. He is featured in singer Michael Bublé’s Grammy-nominated album Caught in the Act. Fellow musicians and music critics have called his jazz abilities “sensational” and “forward-thinking.”

The benefit, “Trinity in the Woods Winter Jazz Concert,” will begin with wine and cheese at 7:00pm, music to follow at 7:30pm. A silent-auction will go on through the evening, featuring items from professional Detroit sports teams and packages from popular restaurants and hotels in the Metro area. Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 26880 LaMuera Street, Farmington Hills, will host the event, and a $15 donation is suggested.

Guest musicians, the Reverend Canon Lisa Gray and the Reverend Beth Taylor will also perform. Monies earned from the event will go to support the over 25 programs at Baldwin Center which serve to feed, clothe, educate, and empower the Pontiac community.
