Board approves proposal to offer evening meals at soup kitchen

Baldwin Moves to Offer Additional Meals

The Salvation Army has recently moved into a wonderfully renovated building on the south side of Pontiac.  Their new location will allow them to better serve the larger community.  However, because of their move, they have changed their feeding times– moving their meals to mid-day instead of evening.  Now there is no one offering large public evening meals in the City of Pontiac.  Nearly 500 meals were served during that time.  Because Baldwin has the facility, the knowledge, and the volunteer base to offer additional feeding times, a proposal was taken to Baldwin’s Board of Directors to offer a dinner meal on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  The proposal was approved on the condition that funds can be secured to operate the program.  It is anticipated that an additional $30,000 will be needed annually to operate the program.  Can you support this effort?  Can you make a donation?  Do you know of a possible funding source?  If so, please contact either Lisa or Jason at 248 332 6101 or baldwin@baldwincenter.org or donate at: Network for Good.
