Kids in Pontiac are losing out.
Continued cuts in state, local and school funding mean fewer opportunities for the youth here. Community centers are closing, more and more schools are being shuttered and merged, and gangs and drugs are creeping into the parks. Young people in Pontiac are struggling to find opportunities.
They need positive and engaging activities. They need the community to care about their future. This is where you come in.
It has been our annual tradition to outfit the kids of our community with a new backpack, school supplies and a new set of clothes as a way to say “We care about you!” Last year, we outfitted 600 children with basic school supplies and provided them the encouragement and opportunity to keep learning. We cannot continue to make such a huge impact on the lives of these kids and their families without your continued support.
- Can you outfit a child in a new school uniform? Donate $75.
- Can you fill a backpack with school supplies? Donate $25.
- Can you provide paper, pens, crayons, etc.? Donate needed items.
Your donations do more than just make sure every child in our neighborhood is ready to start school; they remind every boy and girl that he and she is valued.
Baldwin has been leading the way at showing love and care for the kids in our community. Over eighty students are enrolled in our summer enrichment program, and more will become students of the afterschool program starting in September. It’s all because of your support.
Will you join us in giving these kids a winning chance?
