I hope you will take a moment to read this letter. Baldwin needs your help today. Over the last year Baldwin’s programs have grown and flourished. We are doing more. Much more.
We are serving more meals. We are serving healthier meals. More youth are coming for tutoring help. More youth are participating in recreation activities that fight childhood obesity. More people come to our clothing closet to replace clothing that has tattered. Over 50 teens received summer jobs. Over 700 Pontiac children received backpacks last month. Community members now have free yoga and a walking club. Baldwin is a place where people can get their GED. Baldwin is doing MORE to meet the needs of this impoverished community.
Our finances haven’t kept up with our growth. Giving is down. Costs have gone up.
It costs more to do more.
We have continued Baldwin’s tradition of keeping costs down. We rely heavily on volunteers to make programs work. We also reuse and recycle all your castaways. We ask the community to donate services. But this is not enough. We need our skeleton staff to do all the work that is put before us. We need to maintain our buildings and vehicles. We need to continue to operate.
This time of the year is traditionally the leanest. We have gone through much of our reserves. Cash will be very tight until end of the year giving comes in. We need your help TODAY.
It costs $500 per day to keep our after school program open. That amounts to $10 per child each day. Can you give $50 so a child will have a safe and supportive place to be after school for a week?
Baldwin has grown because you have given in the past. You have given your time. You have given you treasure. Can I ask you to give more?
Please consider a gift to Baldwin as we build the foundation for our growth. You can give online or by mail (PO BOX 420700 Pontiac MI 48342).
Give today. Then encourage two friends to give by passing on this email or giving them a call.
Baldwin will only be able to do more if you give more.
Thank you for continuing to support the work of Baldwin.
